Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina reached out with an ask to provide a friendly facelift to the lobby entrance; a custom mural intended to welcome, delight, and capture the essence of the property — The Heart of the Harbor.
The design captures the life of the marina, coast, and local surroundings through natural and simplistic coastal-inspired colors. It features the San Diego cityscape, local nautical and beach elements, and a supersized postcard greeting: “Hello from San Diego!”
Other special artist-originated elements include mascots Kook the Seabird who sits on a dock cleat and Sandy the Seal, San Diego's biggest flipper-functioning fan. They invite a bit of youthful whimsy for guests and visitors to discover.
