Target Mural

Target came to me with a dream job: to design an illustrative mural to represent the well-loved, hip neighborhood of North Park, San Diego. North Park holds a special place in my heart, as it’s a community I grew up in and spend a lot of time interacting with. So, it was important that the mural upheld a sense of neighborly spirit.

The concept was to celebrate the daily interactions of the North Park community. Energetic social interactions are represented via small physical gestures that North Parkers have with one another on a daily basis; vibrant intersections celebrate the pizza sharing, snail mail deliveries, dog greetings, and diverse activities and events that make this community special and connected.
