Design Forward Summit (Point Loma, San Diego): Bobby Buchanan of Buchanan Design reached out to me to work up an interactive, freestanding mural to be completed day-of at the newly formed, multi-disciplinary Design Forward Summit. About 400 attended the conference in the heart of Liberty Station to listen to key speakers and engage in the topic of human-centered design. Playing off the summit theme of “human-centered design as a lens”, we linked a 3-dimensional concept into the mural design. 3-D glasses were provided to attendees to draw out wonder and curiosity; what does it feel like turn flat into dimensional, using throwback-retro technology in an era welcoming AR, VR and beyond?
